The product is available for the following operating systems: 

• Windows 2000 or 2003 Server (for the web components)

Serial number/Authentication key

During installation of Norman Email Protection you will be asked for an authentication key.

Contact you local Norman subsidiary or International distributor to obtain such a key.

Documentation

Norman strongly recommends that you download and read the documentation before you start using the program. Documentation is available from the User manuals menu choice on the left hand side.

If Norman Virus Control and Norman Email Protection are installed on the same server

If you are planning to install Norman Email Protection (NEP) on a server which is also running a Norman Virus Control (NVC) file scanner base installation, you must: 

1. Change the following NVC settings from the Configuration Edtior: 
• Disable the Internet Protection module (select the Components below the Norman Virus Control product and deselect “Internet Protection" from the tabs Start and Install). 
• Exclude NEP’s work directories from On-access scanning (default c:\program files\Norman\Norman email protection\spool and c:\program files\Norman\Norman email protection\MAILBOX@Quarantine). 
  
  
2. All installations running both NVC and NEP is updated through NVC’s Internet Update mechanism (NIU).
