A new virus, Win95.Marburg, has been found on a CD distributed through the July issue of the magazine PC Gamer. By using the latest version of Norman Virus Control, the newest definition files and scanner update, the virus will be detected.

PC Gamer is a British magazine focusing on computer games. The July issue of the magazine is being distributed. The virus was detected in three computer games on the CD; CD GAMER 2 enclosed with the magazine.

Win95.Marburg is created to infect Windows 95 programs. The virus is polymorf and therefore difficult to detect. Infected files will grow by 6-8 kb. Three months after the virus has been activated it will be recognised by red circles with a white cross inside appearing randomly on the screen.

Norman Virus Control version 4.50, the newest definition file and scanner update will detect the virus. Definition files and scanner update is available on the Norman web site.
