Svein R. Goli, former President of Oracle Norway, was elected new Chairman of the Board at the extraordinary general assembly on November 11th in Oslo. Svein R. Goli has been a member of the board since May -98.
"The company is entering an industrial phase and I feel this is the right time to leave this position to somebody with a broad industrial experience" says J. Arthur Olafsen, Chairman since the start of Norman in 1984, and founder of the company. "Svein R. Goli has experience from both IBM and Oracle. He turned Oracle Norway into a significant business, and I believe his skills will be of great importance for Norman".
J. Arthur Olafsen will remain a large shareholder in the company.
"This will strengthen our ability to develop Norman internationally by using the added experience of the new board members" says Gunnel B. Wullstein, CEO and President of Norman.
4 new members were elected to the board. The new Board of Directors includes the following 6 members: Svein R. Goli (Chairman), Arne Dalslaaen, Gunnar Hjartland, Jan Henrik Jebsen, Pål Sørensen and Charles Tschachtli.
