Norman has signed an OEM agreement with the US based Tritheim Technologies Inc, one of the world's largest producers of smart card readers/writers.

Norman Access Control is integrated with Tritheim's smart card solution "PC Defender", a well-known product for laptop security. Norman Access Control is selected to make PC Defender even more reliable as an access control product.

Norman Access Control is developed to assure a secure logon to Windows 95/98. The hard disk may be encrypted so that only those supposed to are able to read the information. E-mail may also be encrypted in such a way that only the recipient can read the content. Norman Access Control may be combined with smart cards, pin codes and finger print scanning. Norman Access Control is developed by Norman Data Defense Systems and is sold in most European countries, Australia and USA.

In 1998 Norman Access Control received several awards in the computer press.
