GFI and Norman today announced that they have teamed up to integrate the Norman Virus Engine with GFI email security gateway, Mail essentials. Through this seamless integration with Norman Virus Control.

Mail essentials users will receive automatic anti-virus updates and searching facilities from Norman. Additionally, virus detection can be conducted from the Mails essentials configuration and therefore also from within Exchange Administrator.

For the price of a normal email anti virus gateway, customers will receive not only the anti-virus module but also a wide range of other useful features that form an integral part of Mail essentials. Mail essentials for Exchange/SMTP is an email content security and anti-virus gateway that removes all types of email-borne threats before they can affect an organization's email users. Spam, viruses, dangerous attachments and offensive content can be removed before they reach the mail server. Now, Norman's anti-virus engine is automatically included in the 50,100,250,500 and unlimited user versions of Mail essentials and with maintenance contracts.
