Norman with new contract in the Swedish market:

Norman ASA has entered into its largest agreement in Sweden so far by signing an agreement with Network Technical AB regarding pre-installation of Norman Virus Control. This agreement means that Norman Virus Control will be installed in all home PCs that Network Technical AB sells in Sweden.

Norman ASA has entered into an agreement with Swedish Network Technical AB, which is the largest PC producer in Sweden. This agreement means that Norman Virus Control will be installed in all home PCs that Network Technical sells to the Swedish market in the next 14 months. The company will also become a distributor of Norman Virus Control for sale to the professional market in Sweden.

Bjørn Fosli, Managing Director of Norman says: "This agreement is the first result of Norman's new focus on Sweden. And in addition to sales income, will give Norman good exposure in the Swedish market."

Time to replace old home PCs

Stefan Lindholm, Vice President of Network Technical AB says: "We believe that the number of home PC contracts will increase in the near future. The big boom in the home PC market took place in 1998, which means that it is about time for these computers to be replaced. It is only natural therefore that we should co-operate with a leading data security to give our customers the best possible product. This agreement ensures that home PCs users receive a secure and reliable product."

Large market for home PCs in Sweden

Swedish analysis company, IT-Research, anticipates that more than half of those who own a home PC will replace their old machines and use these as a second PC. They also believe that each home will have several PCs and that many of the new PCs will be laptops. IT-research also believes that people will choose new PCs and that after three years of using a home PC, users' requirements have increased. This means that the new machines will be better equipped and therefore also more expensive.
