Lysaker, 20 February 2001

Norman ASA (www.norman.com), a world leader in the field of data security, has today announced that Norman Virus Control v5* was awarded with the Virus Bulletin's 100% for February 2001. The award is given to products that are able to detect 100% of all viruses “in the wild.”

The well-respected magazine Virus Bulletin has tested and controlled the world’s leading anti-virus products since 1998. Presently the test is carried out every second month. The testing and subsequent award is considered to be a great recognition of the technical capabilities of the virus products.

- This was the first, serious exam for the new technology of Norman Virus Control version 5, and we passed with flying colours, states Steinar Wigtil Manager-Virus Control Development.

Virus Bulletin’s 100% The award is presented as follows by the Virus Bulletin magazine: "The Virus Bulletin 100% awards recognize those products best able to detect viruses known to be 'in the wild'. Unlike some other similar-sounding schemes, Virus Bulletin uses the most up-to-date WildList in its tests. This means that products that are 'up with the game' are the ones most likely to be granted VB 100% awards."
