The data security company Norman ASA and Tiscali World Online have signed an agreement where Tiscali World Online can offer their users three data security products from Norman. Its users will be offered the security software, which has a market value of NOK 2000, at a favourable price. The agreement is only valid by way of introduction to Norwegian users, but there is an option to extend this to other Tiscali companies (including World Online and LibertySurf) in the rest of Europe.
This agreement with Tiscali World Online is a continuation of the agreement Norman signed with LibertySurf in 2000. Both LibertySurf and World Online have been bought by Tiscali and the originally cooperation between LibertySurf and Norman will be continued with the agreement now signed with Tiscali World Online. Tiscali is one of Europe's biggest and fastest growing ISP company with more than 16 million users by the end of April.
In practice, this agreement means that Tiscali World Online users can install three security products from Norman. In addition to the well-known Norman Virus Control anti-virus program, the package also includes Norman Personal Firewall, an application that gives private users a secure firewall around their PC, and Norman Privacy, an application that provides secure e-mail encryption. If users need support, they can obtain this either by contacting Tiscali World Online or Norman's own support service. Tiscali World Online will also ensure that the customers have access to updated versions of these applications as well as current information about various security threats.
