Oslo/Solingen, 25 May 2001

Every Consumer PC that leaves the factory of Fujitsu Siemens Computers and is shipped to the European market will be secured with Norman Virus Control v5.

From May 1 this year, Europe's leading supplier of PCs for home users, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, and data security company Norman will provide more secure consumer PCs to the European market. The duration of the agreement is two years.

Norman Virus Control 5.0, which has recently received two 100% awards from Virus Bulletin, is to be preinstalled in more than 1.5 million Fujitsu Siemens Computers consumer PCs annually. Following on-line registration on the Internet, the user will have access to the latest updates of the software.

However, this strategic partnership involves more than just virus protection. Pre-installation of another two products from Norman's Internet Security portfolio is also planned. These two products are Norman Personal Firewall, an application that gives private users a secure firewall around their PC and Norman Privacy, an application, which among other factors offers secure e-mail encryption.

"Today, most PCs are supplied with Internet access and with this package, Norman ensures secure surfing on the Internet. Users are well protected against computer viruses and hacker attacks and can safely send e-mails and use online banking services," says Marketing Director of Norman Bjørn A. Windfeldt.
