The data security company Norman ASA and Tiscali Germany have signed an agreement where Tiscali will offer their users three data security products from Norman. Tiscali will purchase the product licences from Norman, but will offer their Trust subscribers this security package with a market value of NOK 2000 for free.

The estimated value of the contract is NOK 2 million. Norman also have an agreement with Tiscali for Norway and this is the second European agreement with Tiscali. Tiscali is one of Europe’s biggest and fastest growing ISP company with more than 16 million users.

In practice, this agreement means that Tiscali Trust subscribers can install three security products from Norman. In addition to the well-known Norman Virus Control anti-virus program, the package also includes Norman Personal Firewall, an application that gives private users a secure firewall around their PC, and Norman Privacy, an application that provides secure e-mail encryption. If users need support, they can obtain this either by contacting Tiscali or Norman's own support service. Tiscali will also ensure that the customers have access to updated versions of these applications.
