Oslo, 12 August 2002
The data security company Norman ASA has received yet another Virus Bulletin 100% Award. This signifies that Norman Virus Control (NVC) found 100% of the viruses reported to be in the wild at the time the test was conducted.
The August 2002 version of the magazine Virus Bulletin tested antivirus products on the NetWare platform. Nine different products were tested and six passed the test with a 100% award. Virus Bulletins tests are among the most renowned international studies of the antivirus products capability to detect rampant viruses. The tests are carried out every second month on specific products among the principal platforms for servers and workstations. So far, NVC has received 18 awards since Virus Bulletin introduced these tests in 1998. This ranks Norman above all other leading market players within the antivirus industry.
- "Norman FireBreak demonstrated very good scan speeds, no false positives and excellent detection rates, and as such it deservedly earns Norman its 18th VB 100% award." Said Helen Martin, editor of Virus Bulletin
-Through Virus Bulletins tests we demonstrate to our customers that we work consistently to provide the best possible virus protection. Even as a relatively small company, these tests prove that Norman is competitive and even outperforms larger competitors, says VP Marketing Bjørn A. Windfeldt in Norman ASA.
The British magazine Virus Bulletin is the only professional and unbiased publication that monitors the AV industry.
The VB 100% logo is awarded to products that detect all In the Wild viruses during both on-demand and on-access scanning in Virus Bulletin's comparative tests. The product must also produce no false positives. For more information, please refer to: www.virusbtn.com.
