The Data Security Company Norman ASA announced today that Norman Virus Control has received yet another Virus Bulletin 100% award, its fifth in a row and sixteenth since 1998, making its antivirus products among the highest performing on the market.
In the February issue of the Virus Bulletin Magazine antivirus software are tested on the Windows ME platform. This is the sixteenth time Norman Virus Control receives the 100% award and the fifth in a row for the new version 5 of Norman Virus Control.
Virus Bulletin's tests are highly recognized within the antivirus business and are a key indicator on quality and effectiveness on the vendors antivirus solutions. Through this last award Norman again shows the ability to stay on top regarding quality and the ability to detect computer viruses, says VP Marketing Bjørn A. Windfeldt in Norman ASA.
The Virus Bulletin 100% awards recognize those products best able to detect viruses known to be 'in the wild'. Unlike some other similar-sounding schemes, Virus Bulletin uses the most up-to-date WildList in its tests. This means that products that are 'up with the game' are the the ones most likely to be granted VB 100% awards.
Virus Bulletin is the technical journal on developments in the field of computer viruses and anti-virus products. For more information: http://www.virusbtn.com/100/vb100sum.html
