VB 100% February 2005

A new test of antivirus programs conducted by the well-respected magazine Virus Bulletin (VB) grants Norman Virus Control another 100% award.

Every other month, VB tests the performance of the leading antivirus solutions running on different operating systems. The latest VB test was run on Microsoft Windows NT platform. The VB 100% award means that Norman Virus Control with the unique SandBox technology managed to detect all the “In-the-Wild" viruses it was exposed to. Norman’s products have previously been awarded 100% on operating systems like Windows 2000 and XP, as well as for Novell Netware. Since 1998 Norman Virus Control has received a total of 26 VB 100% awards.

Last week, Norman Virus Control with SandBox stopped and neutralized several new Bagle attacks, and Norman’s customers were thereby protected even before new virus detection files were released.

“Norman will continue to keep a high focus on the NT-platform. Several of our customers still run vital applications on NT and it will take some time before they change to another operating system. This is part of Norman’s end-to-end proactive strategy towards our customers, and we are pleased to see that Norman Virus Control with SandBox provides our NT-customers with the highest protection available", says Audun Lødemel marketing director Norman ASA.
