Box NVC for Vista

Norman, the data security company, today launched the Windows Vista version of its virus control software.

Norman Virus Control (NVC) version 5.90 has been developed to support the specific features of the new generation of Microsoft’s operating systems. It includes Norman’s world leading SandBox proactive protection technology, which protects the computer from new and unknown security threats.

Vista and Norman technologies go well together. With the new version, Norman introduces a new scanner engine which requires considerably less memory than previous systems. Internal tests indicate that NVC with Vista requires only half the memory, compared to previous versions. Utilizing Vista’s new features also improves stability and reduces the needs for restarting the computer after minor modifications.

User-friendly, proactive and automated functionality are keywords describing NVC for Vista single-user edition. This product uses the same core components as the corporate version, except for network and network management functionality.

Through NVC, Vista users are protected against malicious software by one of the most sophisticated antivirus solutions available. The unique Norman SandBox technology protects against new and unknown malware. Emails are scanned before they reach the mailbox to prevent viruses from propagating through the email system. In addition, downloads from instant messaging clients like Windows Live Messenger can be scanned for malware before they are available to the user.

The automatic Internet update feature, Norman Internet Update (NIU), ensures that NVC is up-to-date at all times.

These features make NVC the obvious choice for users who require real time protection from viruses and other forms of malware.
