Norman SandBox Analyzer and Reporter

One of the most prevalent characteristics of virus and malicious code of today is that different kinds of malware are joining forces. Today’s malware are more sophisticated and complex than before. This requires more advanced protection solutions. Norman has developed a new product line to meet this new challenge.

The product line consists of Norman SandBox Analyzer, Norman SandBox Analyzer Pro and Norman SandBox Reporter. All solutions are based on the proactive Norman SandBox technology and are designed to increase security by making organizations more able to take the necessary pre-emptive steps in order to avoid being attacked.

Norman SandBox Analyzer enables the user to analyze all the actions performed by the files. Norman SandBox Analyzer provides a comprehensive analysis of any executable file action. After the file has been processed it generates a report with in-depth description of files in an API log view and a summary report.

Norman SandBox Analyzer Pro is an application designed to perform deep analysis of any Win 32 PE executable file more effectively than any other analyzing tool. It is unique in letting the users analyze malicious code such as viruses, worm, Trojans, keyloggers etc. When performing in-depth analysis of files and their behavior and actions, you can look at libraries, running threads, created sockets.

Norman SandBox Reporter provides you with the outcome the analysis performed by Norman SandBox and includes the following elements: 

  • A list of URL that might contain malicious code. This can be used to block URLs in order to prevent any computer to access the suspicious sites. ISPs can use it to take won web sites containing malicious code. 
  • A list of IRC network servers that malware tries to connect to. This list includes server names, ports, usernames, passwords etc.
  • A SandBox summary of most of the files that have been analyzed in the same period. This summary contains more detailed information about the files behavior and intentions.

All three products can handle a large number of files and are optimal tool for larger organizations and ISPs. This solution is part of a new SandBox product line that is meant to increase security and provide more effective protection against new and more advanced malware.
