Norman, the data security company, today launched the Windows Vista version of its virus control software. Norman Virus Control (NVC) version 5.90 has been developed to support the specific features of the new generation of Microsoft’s operating systems. It includes Norman’s world leading SandBox proactive protection technology, which protects the computer from new and unknown security threats.

The amount of spyware is increasing with tremendous speed. Today 80 % of all PCs are infected with some sort of spyware, with an average of 24.4 spies pr infected computer. Norman is now launching the new Norman Ad-Aware SE Enterprise, a tool for detection, prevention and protection of spyware for networks.

Norman has obtained TÜV certification for its proactive virus protection from the TÜV Saarland Group. Norman, the Norwegian data security company, continued its profitable growth in this year’s second quarter. Net revenues increased by 11 per cent to NOK 62.9 million, up from 56.7 million in the second quarter last year. Profitability increased even more, and the company posted pre tax profits of NOK 8.7 million for the quarter, compared to 5.6 million in the same period last year.

Norwegian data security company Norman has entered into the"HP Developer and Solution Partner Program". This agreement grants Norman access to tools and resources for integrating Norman’s security products with Hewlett-Packards hardware- and software platforms.

Norman ASA, the Norwegian data security company, increased its total revenue by 13 per cent to NOK 63.5 million in the first quarter, up from NOK 56.2 million in the same period last year. Pre tax profit ended at NOK 9.3 million, compared to NOK 8.2 million in the first quarter of 2005.

Kristian Borge-Jensen (43) is to join Norman, the data security company, as Country Manager for Norway. He will be heading all Norman’s activities in the Norwegian market.

IT security company Norman ASA will as from today provide quarterly virus reports describing the propagation of computer viruses, vulnerabilities and other forms of malicious code. The report will be distributed every quarter and is provided by Norman’s own security experts.

Highly malicious code continues to spread through vulnerabilities in Windows systems. The malware using this exploit, collectively named WMF/Exploit.B or W32/ Exploit.gen may infect your system through email, IM channels and web pages and can infect your computer without your knowledge. This trojans can install ad/spyware as well as backdoors and bots to remotely control your machine.
