Oslo, Norway, September 25th 2007

Norman expands its operations with a new office for research and development in Chandigarh, India. This area is situated 250 km north of New Delhi, and is one of the new centres in India for information technology development. Chandigarh has several recognized universities and technology companies that offer good opportunities for collaboration and development for Norman.

The threat picture is in constant change, and the market consequently demands new security solutions. Establishing an office in India is part of Norman’s growth strategy with a need for increased access to competence and resources. The new office will work closely with the existing research and development department at Lysaker outside of Oslo, and will contribute to the development of new innovative solutions and maintenance of existing security products. Additional virus analyzing and support services will also take place there.

- In our search for particular skills and resources to carry out our growth strategy, India and Chandigarh were a natural choice. This is an area with high competence and access to important resources. We believe that this establishment and the available competence in Chandigarh, in combination with our existing organization, will secure our current position as a leader in the field of proactive security solutions, says Trygve Aasland, CEO of Norman ASA.
