Cisco Compatible

Norman, the data security company, has entered a cooperation with Cisco Systems and joins the Cisco’s Network Admission Control (NAC) initiative.

NAC is aimed at enforcing data security in network infrastructures and thereby limiting damage from emerging security threats. Through NAC, network owners can restrict access to the network to defined and trusted endpoint devices (e.g. PCs, servers, PDAs) only. In doing so, noncompliant devices will not be able to access the network.

Through the NAC program Norman’s security solutions will be integrated with the Cisco trust agent, providing access restrictions at the endpoint.

Compliant systems are allowed access, non-compliant systems are denied access and/or sent to remediation portals. By enabling security policy enforcement and access management at network endpoints, organisations will be able to minimize risks by helping to ensure that all devices comply with company security policies.

“In order to meet new and sophisticated threats and the growing variety of endpoints, there is a strong need for interoperable solutions that enforce security policies at every endpoint. This will maximize the overall security posture of the network,"said Audun Lødemel, VP Marketing and Business Development at Norman.

Cisco is the worldwide leader in networking and the founder of the self-defending network strategy. Norman and Cisco have now joined forces to help mutual customers mitigate risks by identifying, preventing and adapting to new and emerging security threats.
