With the introduction of its next generation of computer security: Norman Security Suite, the Norwegian company has taken a huge step towards fully protecting personal computers. Norman Security Suite has advanced mechanisms for protection against the threats a user is exposed to on the Internet at the same time as it is user friendly and needs few resources.

Norman, the data security company, comes out on top in a software security test conducted by the computer magazine PC World Norway.

Norman has set the trojan PDF/Pidief.A to medium risk, and has also set the general threat level to medium.  The trojan utilizes vulnerabilities in Adobe Reader and Acrobat to get control over affected systems.  Spammed emails are used as spreading mechanism for this attack.

Norman ASA and the U.S.-based company Bit9, Inc., the leading provider of application and device control solutions, today announced a collaboration combining the Bit9 Knowledgebase and Norman SandBox Analyzer.

The October 2007 comparative review done by the renowned security magazine Virus Bulletin honored Norman with the 38th VB 100 award.

Norman ASA recorded net revenues of NOK 188.9 million for the first three quarters of 2007, an increase of 1% over the same period last year. Year to date EBITDA ended at NOK 17.2 million giving an EBITDA margin of 9%.

Norman ASA,achieved net revenues of NOK 130.2 million in first half of 2007, a 3 per cent growth over the same period last year. The EBITDA result was NOK 8.9 million, giving an EBITDA margin of 7 per cent. The lower EBITDA margin is a result of the previously announced increased R&D efforts and a continued repositioning of Norman’s business model, in which the company is creating the basis for new growth.

Norman ASA, a leading innovator of proactive solutions for protection against malicious software, announced today the release of Norman Network Protection (NNP) - a new generation high-performance security gateway to protect organizations infrastructure in real-time against known and unknown malware attacks. As the first anti-malware gateway in the world, NNP includes a detailed analysis of new and unknown malware, like viruses, worms, trojans and spyware.

The renowned security magazine Virus Bulletin has in the June edition tested the security software Norman Virus Control v. 5.90 and awarded the product with VB100% award.

Norman ASA posted an 8 per cent revenue growth in the first quarter of 2007. Net revenues ended at NOK 68.7 million. Norman posted an EBITDA result of NOK 5.3 million for the first quarter, following substantial investments in sales and R&D and the effect of increased deferred revenue. Growth in invoiced sales was 15 per cent in the quarter (6 per cent in the first quarter last year).

Norman ASA releases Norman Online Analyzer, a new web based security analysis service for analysis of suspicious data programs and files.  The online service will be beneficial for organizations that needs quickly and cost-effectively analyze to reveal malware (virus, worms, trojans, bots, spyware etc.) and needs insight in the methods used by malware developers.

For the third time in a row Norman has been awarded best company within Internet security in the Netherlands.

Norman ASA has signed a contract with a major US based IT company licensing Norman’s malware analyzer products. The name of the customer will remain undisclosed, however it is identified as a global provider of IT security and service.

Norman has entered a cooperation with Cisco Systems and joins the Cisco’s Network Admission Control (NAC) initiative.

Norman ASA announces an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) agreement with US data security vendor eEye Digital Security. eEye will incorporate Norman’s antivirus engine with the unique SandBox technology as part of its security offering.

Norman will supply Nordea’s online customers with antivirus software. Nordea will offer all 1.8 million Swedish online customers antivirus and antispyware software based on Norman’s proactive SandBox technology, and Norman’s personal firewall, free of charge for Nordea’s customers.

Norman ASA, the Norwegian data security company, posted a 9 per cent revenue growth in 2006 and preliminary result before tax of NOK 36.4 million (up 5 per cent from 2005).
