There are two different approaches to disabling/removing the Firewall part of Norman Internet Control

Disable firewall temporarily until next computer restart

Select the Norman icon (the small N) in the system tray and then Personal Firewall, enter your password if you are using one, and click 'Turn Engine 0ff'.

Alternatively you can select the firewall icon in the system tray then settings and follow the same procedure.

Removing/uninstalling

There are several reasons why you may want to uninstall Norman Personal Firewall from your NIC installation. For instance, we don’t recommend that you run more than one software based firewall per computer.

To uninstall/remove Norman Personal Firewall:

  1. Right click the N tray icon
  2. Select Configuration Editor
  3. From the Install and update products section, unselect the product Norman Personal Firewall.
  4. Save your configuration
  5. Wait a few minutes, then restart the computer

If you want to install the firewall again later, reselect the configuration option that you unselected in item 3 above.
