These options are no longer available in NIC. The About option is replaced by the Update status entry in the Norman menu. You will find version information and information about what time the installation was last updated when you select this option.

The Active component option has been replaced by a more intelligent tray icon (‘N’). The tray icon will for example display indicators if components are not running in accordance with your configuration, or if you have stopped core modules like the On-access scanner.

Yellow triangle - the On-access scanner is not running or a computer restart is needed to complete an update.

Red circle - the installation is not behaving according to the configuration. If this symbol occurs, you will most likely solve the problem by running Delnvc5, a program that resides within the folder ...\Norman\Nvc\Bin. Select Repair.

Cog - the installation is being updated automatically in the background. You should not restart your computer while this symbol is visible.
