After installing or upgrading Norman Internet Control, some DSL users experience problems connecting to the Internet (error 651). The problem seems to be related to Windows XP and the PPPoE protocol.

Follow these instructions to solve the problem:

1. Click the little ’N’ icon in the system tray, and select Configuration Editor. On the tab Install, unselect Personal Firewall
2. Save
3. Wait a few minutes
4. Restart your computer
5. Click the little ’N’ icon in the system tray, and select Internet update
6. When the download is complete, click the little ’N’ icon again and select Configuration Editor. On the tab Install, reselect Personal Firewall
7. Save
8. Wait a few minutes while the update is installed in the background and restart the computer when NVC prompts you to do so
