Problem

After updating Norman Internet Control the Norman tray Icon (N) reports “Personal Firewall is not running". How can I solve the problem?

Solution 

  1. Right click the N-icon and select Configuration Editor
  2. In the Install and update products module, unselect Personal Firewall from the tab Install
  3. Save the configuration. 
  4. Wait approximately one minute. Then restart the computer. 
  5. Open the Configuration Editor again and reselect Personal Firewall on the tab Install in the Install and update products module. 
  6. Restart the computer if prompted to do so. 
  7. After restart the installation will ask if you want to import previously created Norman Personal Firewall rules.
    If your firewall configuration was OK before the “Personal Firewall is not running" diagnose problem, you should respond with ‘Yes’ to this question. If you were also having other Internet/network problems, you should consider to respond with ‘No’ and thereafter work through the Freshie’s assistant wizard for basic setup of Norman Personal Firewall.
