Problem
After upgrading to Norman Internet Control 5.90 i recieve the following error message followed by a system reboot:
elogsvc.exe has generated error and will be closed by windows.
You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.
Solution
This is probably caused by a corrupt eLoggerSvc.dat in the c:\windows\temp directory. We don't yet know the cause of the corruption and it is difficult to troubleshoot since it probably happens during shutdown or startup. You should be able to solve the problem through the following procedure
1) Open Control Panel | Administrative tools | Services.
2) Locate for the service named "Norman elogger service 6". Stop it if it is running.
3) Delete the file eLoggerSvc.dat. The file is normally located under c:\windows\temp. If you can not find it there, use the windows search tool to find it.
4) Restart eLogger service
Note! If you are not able to perform these steps before the computer reboots, please repeat the procedure in Safe Mode.
