Whenever an application that connects to the Internet is changed, NPF will ask to confirm if you have updated or changed the application in question. Some applications like Norman Virus Control and Norman Internet Control (NIU.EXE) have auto-update options. Keep these in mind when answering NPF's questions concerning updates or changes in applications.

You may well experience that NPF will ask you to permit updates in NIU.EXE, even though you have not manually initiated the update of this file.

We recommend that you keep a list of applications that should be allowed to update automatically.
