There are several reasons why you may want to reset your Personal Firewall rules. 

  • They are too strictly configured and deny access for applications and addresses that you trust. 
  • They are not restrictive enough and allows malicious operations and processes to connect to/from you computer to/from the Internet.

Procedure: 

  1. Right-click the Personal Firewall tray icon 
  2. Select Settings 
  3. Select the Security module 
  4. Click the Rules button 
  5. Select the first rule in your list, Click the Shift key on your keyboard and select the last rule in your list. 
  6. Press the Delete button in the Personal Firewall Console or on your keyboard 
  7. Click OK 
  8. Select the Active Content module 
  9. Select Advanced 
  10. Repeat step 5 - 7

OR if you are running Norman Internet Control 

  1. Right click the N tray icon 
  2. Select Configuration Editor 
  3. From the Install and update products section, unselect the product Norman Personal Firewall
  4. Save your configuration 
  5. Wait a few minutes, then restart the computer 
  6. Reselect Personal Firewall in the Configuration Editor, and restart the computer when the installation asks you to. 
  7. Respond with NO, when/if the installation pops up a question if you want to import previous firewall rules
  8. Select Auto Setup...
