Problem

When trying to upgrade your operating system from Windows XP to Windows Vista you get a message stating that Norman Personal Firewall is not compatible with Vista.

Solution

Until versions of Norman Personal Firewall / Norman Internet Control that support Windows Vista are available you have to remove the Norman product from you system before upgrading.

  1. Open your Start-menu 
  2. Open Control Panel 
  3. Open “Add or Remove Programs" 
  4. Select Norman Personal Firewall / Norman Internet Control in list over currently installed programs 
  5. Click the Change/Remove button 
  6. Check the Remove option 
  7. Click Next 
  8. Click Finish 
  9. Restart you computer

You can now resume or restart your upgrade.
