A yellow triangle warning sign with an exclamation mark (!) will appear on the Norman tray icon for one or more of the following reasons:

1. When the scanner engine is out or date (more than eight days old). We recommend that you run Internet update (NIU) on daily basis. 
2. When the On-access scanner is deactivated.
   The On-access scanner is a vital part of NVC, and should not be turned off unless you have no other option to be able to complete your task successfully. In such cases, the warning sign is there to help you remember to activate the On-access scanner on again as soon as possible. 
3. When the installation requires a computer restart to complete an update .
