The NVC5 file scanner does not include automatic exclusion of the directory where NVC for Exchange unpacks and scans attachments.

All sites running NVC5 in conjunction with NVC for Exchange 5.5 must therefore add the email scanner's unpack/scan directory to the exclude list. For a default installation this would be:

NVC for Exchange: "c:\Norman\NVC for Exchange\Temp"

If the NVC5 file scanner does not exclude this directory, the on-access scanner will detect and clean infected files temporarily saved to disk by NVC for Exchange, thus the email scanner will not find any infections and will forward the original (and infected) emails to the users. Another result of this is that the virus warning email feature will not work properly.
