Problem

After upgrading to NVC v5.80 I can neither find shortcuts to all NVC components in my right-click menu nor in the Norman Virus Control desktop folder. What can I do to get them back?

Solution

To make the right-click menu less crowded several shortcuts in v5.80 is available from the Norman Virus Control desktop folder. If the NVC shortcuts for Scan hard disks, Scan diskette, Task Editor and Utilities are not there, these can be recreated through the following procedure: 

  1. Open a command line prompt 
  2. Change to the x:\Norman\Nvc\Bin directory. (x:\Norman is where you installed NVC). 
  3. Type the following commands on the command line and press Enter between each command
    [x:\Norman\Nvc\Bin\] nvcod /install
    [x:\Norman\Nvc\Bin\] nvcte /install
    [x:\Norman\Nvc\Bin\] nvcut /install
