A new vulnerability that affects Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and lots of various other Microsoft programs has been reported.

This vulnerability enables a user with malicious intent to do virtually anything on a cumputer, including running remote code execution,  and deleting/changing content.

Microsoft’s severity rating is Critical (highest rating).

More information is available from Microsofts Security Bulletin MS04-028. The security update is also available from Windows’ automatic updating system for installations that are vulnerable.

Microsoft has released a special tool that can be used to determine if your computer is affected by this vulnerbaility. This tool may be downloaded from Microsoft'w web site here.

Norman advices all affected users to download the security update as soon as possible, to be protected from potential exploits.
