Security advisory

In its security bulletin summary for April 2005 Microsoft reports eight new vulnerabilities in its operating systems and programs. Five of these vulnerabilities are defined as critical, and could all allow remote code execution. These critical vulnerablities include vulnerabilities in popular Microsoft products like MS Messenger, Internet Explorer and Word.

Critical is Microsoft's highest vulnerability rating.

Updates that fixes the vulnerabilities are available from Windows update mechanism for those systems that support this. Other operating systems supported by Microsoft may download updates from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.

Norman advices all affected users to download the security updates as soon as possible, to be protected from potential exploits.
