Norman Virus Control is a collection of antivirus software applications and utilities that protect your workstations, servers and gateways against malicious software. The most prevalent types of malware are computer viruses, worms, and trojans.

Norman Virus Control for Linux is an antivirus application for Linux, offering both On-access and On-demand scanning of files residing on the servers or workstations. Norman Virus Control (NVC) for Linux is compatible with all major Linux distributions.

The On-demand scanner is used to manually scan selected areas of a machine for viruses, and can also scan remote NFS volumes. This scanner can use Norman’s SandBox technology to further increase protection by detecting new unknown computer virus, worms and trojans before they can cause harm.

FireBreak is Norman’s server-based antivirus program for Novell’s NetWare operating system. It ensures that all files stored or accessed from the NetWare server are checked for computer viruses, trojans, and other malicious code - or malware as a collective term.
