Zlh error message after installing Endpoint Protection with MSI installation file generated on the Endpoint Manager server

Description du problème

Using an MSI installer generated on the Endpoint Manager to install Endpoint Protection to a client fails with the following error message:

An unexpected error occured in Norman Program Manager.
Module: c:\program files\norman\npm\bin\zanda.exe
Error code: 0x0015002a


Solution du problème

An update was released Monday 28 January that introduced this problem to users of Norman Endpoint Manager 9.0x (right click the N-icon and choose “Update status” to find the version number). The problem will only occur when using an MSI installer generated on the NEM server. We are currently investigating the issue, and aim to release a fix shortly.

Until a fix has been released, the following workaround can be used to install Endpoint Protection to new clients:

  1. Download the standalone Endpoint Protection installer here: /business/support/installers/endpoint_protection
  2. Install Endpoint Protection using this installer
  3. Copy mig2nss7.nts from the directory where the MSI installers are located on the Endpoint Manager server to \norman\config on the client. This will make the client report to the Endpoint Manager.

This article will be updated as soon as the fix has been released.

Update 31 January 2013 15:23 CET: An update has been released that will solve this problem. Please run Internet Update on your Endpoint Manager server to download and install the update.
