How to start the Norman Security Suite user interface in Safe Mode
Problem description
Sometimes it is necessary to start the PC in Safe Mode for troubleshooting problems. Norman Security Suite's user interface (GUI) is not accessible in Safe Mode.
Solution
If you need access to the GUI in Safe Mode you will have to do some changes to the registry.
NOTE!
Microsoft have issued the following warning with respect to the Registry Editor:
"Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to re-install Windows to correct them. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk."
Follow these steps to enable the Norman Security GUI in Safe Mode:

Start your PC in "Safemode with Networking” (Press F8 during startup)

Start regedit.exe (choose Start | Run (or search) and type regedit)

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Control\SafeBoot\Network

Create a new key with the name NVOY, and set the (Default) REG_SZ under that key to Service

Create a new key with the name Norman NJeeves, and set the (Default) REG_SZ under that key to Service

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Select NDIS_RD and locate the REG_DWORD key named Start. Change the Value data for this entry from 0 to 4.

Select TDI_RD and locate the REG_DWORD key named Start. Change the Value data for this entry from 1 to 4.

Restart your PC in "Safemode with Networking".

Start the "Services" tool (Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services).

Make sure that the service "Normans Very Own Supply of Resources" (Nvoy.exe) is running.

Start the service Norman NJeeves (njeeves.exe)

Start the Norman Security Suite configuration console (NBrowser.exe) and complete make necessary changes in the configuration.
Norman strongly recommend that all registry changes are reverted after completing this procedure
