About the different threat levels

Low threat level

The normal situation.

There are threats, but none of these are viewed as particularly dangerous for the vast majority of the Internet community.

Medium threat level

One or more threats represent a particular danger for a significant number of people and/or organizations. This can be malicious programs and/or vulnerabilities in wide-spread software.

High threat level

A particularly high alert situation.

The threat level will be assessed as high in situations when there is a pandemic outbreak of malicious software; published, unpatched vulnerabilities that are being actively exploited in wide-spread software; botnets that are performing particularly dangerous activity in a large scale, etc.
