Problem description

Setup stops responding during installation of a program using Install Shield when the virus scanner is active.

Problem solution

Stop the On-access scanner from the tray icon menu (N) or by removing the checkmark from Configuration Editor | Norman Virus Control | Components | Start. Remember to save and reverse the process after completing the installation.

The cause of the problem is a conflict between an Install Shield component, _isdel.exe, and some other running application. _isdel.exe is a file that cleans up the Temp directory after an installation.
