Problem description

Problems restoring quarantined files to a network drive.

Problem solution

If the logged-on user has sufficient user privileges, and NVC is configured to quarantine infected files, NVC will back up files to quarantine before repair and/or move unrepairable files to quarantine.

You can manage the quarantine by choosing Utilities from the system tray icon menu (N) or from the Norman Virus Control entry in Windows’ Start menu.

In the quarantine management console, you will find the UNC path to the quarantined file, e.g. \\Server\folder\infected file.xxx. In some cases we have seen that the UNC path lack one backslash (\Server\folder\infected file.xxx). When right clicking and selecting Restore on of these entries, nothing will happen. To restore such files, select Save As instead of Restore.
