Problem description

What does it mean when the green Norman tray icon has a red X mark on it?

Problem solution

The red and white 'x' error sign will appear on the tray icon if a module that is supposed to be started according to the configuration is not started.

During the computer’s boot process the icon will have this error sign until all components are started. If the error sign remains also after start-up is finished, then you should try the Repair option in Delnvc5.

In Norman Virus Control the error sign will also be displayed if the scanner engine is more than one month old. In this case you should run Internet Update. Some minutes after running Internet update, the warning should disappear from the tray icon.

Please contact your local support department for assistance if the problem still remains.
