Some customers have reported that they cannot run any .exe files after Norman Virus Control has removed a malicious program.
This problem is most likely due to the fact that Norman Virus Control stopped a malicious program which has been referred to in a special Registry key. This key has information about how to run .exe files, but NVC did not clean that registry entry. Every time when you are attempting to run an .exe file, Windows is searching for the malicious file and is unable to find it (and consequently unable to run the .exe file).
Double click and run the attached file which resets the Registry entry:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command]
This should solve the problem.
