I receive pop-ups asking me to confirm replacement of a Norman driver with an older version, like the following:

The popup tells the user that Windows was asked to install an older driver than the one that is already on the system. This means that the Norman Virus Control most likely has received an outdated Internet Update file. This will typically happen in situations where the clients are set to download their own updates from our Norman's Internet Update servers, and to download the updates from a distribution server in the local network, while the distribution server has outdated update files. The updates on the distrib server ‘overrule’ the updates that the client downloaded directly from the Internet Update servers, even if they are older. This means that if the outdated updates have an older driver, Norman's product will offer that older driver to Windows. Windows notices that the newly offered driver is older than the present one and shows this warning.
Make sure that the Norman Virus Control distribution server is up-to-date, and that the updates are retrieved automatically by the distribution server. This option can be set in the Internet tab in the Norman configuration editor.
If the distribution server is fully up-to-date but the popups persist, please make sure that the settings in C:\Program Files\Norman\NPM\Bin\NIUCF.EXE (assuming a default installation location) are set correctly, meaning that all platforms, languages and Norman products used on all machines in the distribution network are checked. Then re-run the Norman Internet Update.
After fully updating the distribution server, the workstations should receive the latest updates from the server within minutes and install the newest drivers. The popups should then not appear any more.
If the problem still persists, there is an uncommon problem in your Norman configuration. Please contact your local Norman support office, and tell them this error and the steps you have taken.
